Bro & sis-in-law were up before me and in the hot tub with coffee. I got up later and decided to pass on the hot tub; drank coffee and read the Sunday paper instead. After breakfast (10:30 a.m.), bro and sis-in-law worked in the yard cleaning leaves and such while I worked on courses. Along about 3 we took off for COSTCO for a few things needed for the FEAST. I got three more pairs of wool and silk socks that are just the best for cool weather wear.
On our way out of COSTCO, we stopped at the snack place for a Polish sausage with sauerkraut. I was happily munching along when , WHAM, I had chomped on something VERY hard. I finally found it among the half chewed sausage---a piece of bone about 5 mm. in diameter!!! Then I realized the pain in my mouth was not the piece of bone stabbing me, but half of the bicuspid tooth that was cracked longitudinally, still attached, and nearly piercing the gum with every bite. Here I am in Portland for the next week, the biggest eating event of the year, and I have a broken tooth that only allows me to chew on one side of my mouth. What a way to limit your Thanksgiving feeding frenzy!
Sis-in-law sent me to the service desk to report incident. I filled out the paperwork. the Assistant Manager Hannah was very nice. We kept the piece of bone in the empty sauerkraut container and gave it to the ass't manager. She said she would FAX the report to corporate office this afternoon and i should hear from them this week. Glad that all I have is a cell phone number for a home phone and it's with me here in Portland.
As time has passed since that lunch/snack, the tooth has gotten more and more annoying. Now it's pretty much a continuous ache. Sis-in-law has emailed her dentist about the problem and to expect her call in a.m. Stay tuned for details to follow. 8 )

Ouch! I am sorry about your dental woes. I think COSTCO should be personally driving you to the dentist!
Keep us posted.
